I thought for my first post, I should expand upon why I chose the title for my blog and a little about my current life. The dictionary defines "sojourner" --to reside temporarily; a brief period of residence. I would say that this also defines myself. I have recently moved back to my tiny hometown in Louisiana for my first big-girl job. This was definitely NOT what I was planning on doing last April, when I was enjoying my last few weeks at Baylor University, but Jesus had other plans for me. So here I am residing, Lord willing temporarily, back at home. I teach geometry and algebra II. When people hear this, their first response is to roll their eyes and next say something along the lines of "oh my!" I really like it though! Currently, besides Jesus of course, my students have my heart. I hope I am making some sort of positive impact on their lives. That being said (that I teach MATH), my blog posts might contain a few misspellings, incorrect usage of commas, and maybe even the occasional "there, their" mix up. Like the title says I am "keeping it real."
I hope to include picture posts too! Pictures of my current life, as well as, fashion:) I'd love to share my outfits with everyone. I didn't realize, until after college and starting my first job, how much I enjoy putting outfits together. So hopefully I'll have some cool stuff to share.
My life isn't THAT exciting. I am living everyday to try and please my Savior. In a world that goes against almost everything the Gospel stands for, it's challenging, but His grace, mercy, love, peace, and joy is more than enough to get me through. He provides. He loves. He heals. He saves. All praise and glory to His Name. Jesus.
Welp, that is all I've got for my first official blog post. I hope to keep my sojourner stories real. :)
