best chicken salad. ever.

Can I just say that being a teacher and having summers off is amazing? And having teacher friends that have summers off is even more amazing?

Today my lovely (teacher) friend, Courtney (Life in Loftinville) and I decided to head to the town of DeQuincy to have lunch at a place called Bartella's. Little did we know that May 31st was the LAST day they would be open until July AND that we were going to have the best chicken salad in the state of Louisiana! It was our lucky day.

Bartella's had three different kinds of chicken salad - Courtney and I both chose the Jalopeno Candied Chicken Salad. I usually do not like spicy things, but this had the perfect combination of spicy, sweet and salty. I got mine on a wrap and Court got hers on a croissant. After our surprisingly amazing lunch, we headed to Lake Charles for some much needed shopping! Fun day with my preggers friend - cannot wait for Ella Jane to be here! :-)
